Landspeed had agreed to acquire and deliver three new 2 bedroom maisonettes (accommodated alongside a single private property within a block of four) on Mildren Homes' (now in Receivership) Royal Heights development at Telegraph Road, West End, Southampton.
These spacious new homes were available at prices up to 75% of their prevailing market value to those connected with the Eastleigh Borough Council area (through residence, employment or close family connection) and terms had been agreed with two purchasers before the plug was pulled on our involvement - this despite our resolving a number of issues missed by the original developer and with our having been approved to deliver the units by the local authority.
Unfortunately those involved with the site recently decided that they would seek higher offers than that agreed with Landspeed (this despite shaking hands on the 'deal' and instructing solicitors thereafter) and have advised that they are moving forward with another 'provider' who, to our knowledge, have neither approached nor been approved by the Council. Two parties have therefore now lost their new homes and we would like to record that we have done our utmost to keep these sales live through a very difficult period caused by the failure of the developer.
As of the 31st October 2017 we await feedback from the Council as to how these properties will now be delivered in full accordance with the planning consent.
